Book publisher Faber and Faber has appointed Cocktail Marketing to create promotional campaigns in partnership with other brands.

The partnership agency will be looking to create relevant lifestyle brand partners for the independent publisher’s books, which range from poetry and plays to novels, non-fiction, music and film.

Joanna Ellis, marketing director at Faber and Faber, said: “We are very keen to create promotional partnerships with synergetic brands to help achieve our commercial and marketing objectives for specific books.”

Faber and Faber was involved in a successful promotional partnership with Guardian Media Group earlier this year, providing poetry from its extensive back list for the series of high-quality booklets of the Great Poets of the 20th Century, given away ever day over a week in the Guardian.

Faber and Faber, which is one of the few remaining independent book publishers left in the UK, was founded in 1929, predominantly to publish poets such as TS Eliot and WH Auden. Its current authors include Hanif Kureishi, Joseph Connolly and Andrew Motion, the Poet Laureate.
