Tuborg Lager has launched a national promotion in partnership with pub chain O’Neill’s, driving sales with the incentive of their local hosting a music festival.

Each time someone buys a pint of the lager from one of the pubs, they cast a vote for the venue to be the location for the Tuborg Hometown Festival on September 14.

All votes will be entered into a draw, with the winning O’Neill’s pub determined in mid-August. Top band Scouting for Girls (pictured) will headline the festival, with support from singer-songwriter Sam Isaac and south London four-piece The Rushes.

A further two support slots will be filled by local bands who will compete in local and regional heats, with the best acts battling it out at the national final at O’Neill’s in Muswell Hill on August 20.

Tuborg marketing manager Simon Green said: “Tuborg has expanded its association with music this year to become the single biggest sponsor of the summer festivals. What better way to end the summer with a small, intimate gig supporting music at the grass-roots level as well as with platinum-selling Scouting For Girls?”

Kirstie Yates, senior marketing manager for O’Neill’s, said: “Great live music is really important to the O’Neill’s brand. We see the Tuborg Hometown Festival as a key component in building our music offering and making O’Neill’s synonymous with live music.”
