Feature: Careless whispers

Motivation company BI is all about communication, but it was a different story for the 1,330 children and celebrities who attended an event organised by the agency to set the official record for the longest Chinese whisper.

Staged by BI at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, it raised more than £100,000 for Save the Children and TreeHouse, the charity for autism education.

Lasting for two hours and four minutes, whispering translated the original message of “Together we will make a world of difference” to “Everyone is evil” and finally to just “Haaaa”.

BI managing director Richard Bandell said: “It was an uplifting and emotional occasion for everyone involved, and the children who took part will remember it for the rest of their lives.”
