Feature: Wind turbine is no wind-up

Trevor Baylis (pictured), inventor of the wind-up radio, was the special guest at an event where Toucan’s Mike Benn and Gary Rapps celebrated the arrival of a new wind turbine at their offices in south London – the first ground-based new-generation wind turbine in the capital, no less.

It will help to reduce the agency’s carbon footprint along with other companies in the historic Merton Abbey Mills, which still features a working watermill.

“As far as we know, we are the first marketing agency in the country to install an on-site wind turbine,” Rapps boldly states.

However, Sales Promotion was too polite to ask if there was an unusually large amount of wind around Toucan’s offices.
